For Christmas 2024 display at UBS, the Nurture Landscapes team was tasked with creating a visually stunning and music-inspired installation that reflected the client’s love for the London Symphony Orchestra and traditional holiday elements. As every year, the concept was centred around Zig Zag trees of varying heights—1.0m, 2.0m, 2.5m, and 3.0m, which were adorned with musical notes, instruments, and sheet music to capture UBS’s appreciation for this art.
A unique aspect of the project involved recycling materials and adding personal touches. The small decorations, hand-covered in sheet music and tied with red ribbon, were specially crafted for the scheme. A task that required patience but created charming, bespoke ornaments for the vases and trees. The team sifted through Christmas carols to ensure all music used was inclusive, avoiding overly religious references.
A highlight of the installation was the creation of giant hanging Christmas crackers for the lobby. All the giant crackers were handcrafted from very expensive materials and installed using a scissor lift; careful handling was essential to prevent damage to the decorations. To add texture and break up the design, hand-made wicker bells were strategically placed throughout the display.
In addition to the new potted Christmas trees, the team incorporated potted trees from the previous displays, which not only enhanced sustainability but also reduced costs. The display also featured Nurture’s signature wreaths on stands, fishbowl and glass tabletop decorations, all harmonising to create a cohesive and festive atmosphere.
The client was particularly delighted with the giant sheet music display in the main lobby. The installation closely matched the original proposal, achieving the desired aesthetic impact. This project highlights the power of creativity, attention to detail, and client collaboration. By integrating live trees, bespoke musical decorations, and hand-crafted elements, the installation delivered a memorable festive experience that brought joy to UBS staff and visitors. The display was maintaining sustainability and reusability for future displays.
