Smarkets

Smarkets saw office plants as an important element of 'office wellness' so felt that 'bringing the outside in' along with regular visits from a masseur, a contemplation room and good quality healthy food was all good for employee health. As Smarkets is a high-pressure technology company, it needs to operate in an environment that encourages creativity to flourish. So this wall is not only a great focal point for the reception area but the wall also provides humidity, air purification, and sound absorption. Green wall installed by Enterprise Plants is now part of the Nurture Group.

Sky Gardens 2

Sky Gardens: Biotecture were tasked with creating an enriching environment for all Sky Gardens guests. This is the main arrival area for all who visit The Sky Pod Bar, Darwin Brasseries, City Garden, and Fenchurch Restaurant. It was important that the experience of the double-sided entrance matched the impressive decor and luxury experience.

On the submission form for Biotecture's award entry,, it says, 'The living wall has a planting design of organic ripples in shades of green. Low-growing plants were interspersed with taller more architectural plants to create subtly different areas of planting. Ferns, for example, were chosen for their interesting textures and lush appearance. The front face of the living wall also incorporates brushed stainless steel signage.

UPFranchise Leeds 1

This scheme by Urban Planters Franchise has been designed to provide a link between internal and external planting. The green wall panels are supplied by GSky and are fixed to the wall. In total, they contain 6,800 plants including Epipremnum aurem, Philodendrum scandens, and Peperomia. The scheme was designed to link internal and external planting. The panels of the green wall were designed to have flowing swathes of different plants. The design continues around a curve to the external planting, where suitable external plants have been used. The largest internal panels are 8.6 meters in height and introduce life, colour, and texture on a grand scale to this modern building.

Veolia RERF Biotecture
